The Baltimore Brigade and Washington Valor meet in ArenaBowl XXXI Saturday, July 28 at 7 p.m. at Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, Md., marking the first ArenaBowl appearance for both franchises. Baltimore holds a 3-1 advantage in the regular season series, though Washington won the most recent – a 42-35 victory against the Brigade in both team’s regular season finale.

BRIGADE PLAYER TO WATCH:
QB Randy Hippeard
– Hippeard, the 2017 AFL MVP, is playing in his second consecutive ArenaBowl. This postseason, Hippeard leads the league with a 70.2% completion rate and is tied for the league lead with 13 passing touchdowns. Hippeard threw for 18 touchdowns and just two interceptions in four regular season games against the Valor this season.
VALOR PLAYER TO WATCH:
QB Arvell Nelson
– In his two postseason games this season, Nelson has already tallied 11 passing touchdowns to go along with his league-leading four rushing touchdowns. Nelson played in just two regular season games against Baltimore this year, amassing 490 all-purpose yards and 10 total touchdowns (nine passing and one rushing).
MATCHUP TO WATCH:
BAL DB Joe Powell vs. WAS WR Doug McNeil III
– Powell is coming off one of his best games of the season last week against Philadelphia. The Defensive Player of the game tallied eight tackles (all solo) and five pass break-ups. After ranking second on the team in solo tackles this regular season, Powell leads the league in postseason solo tackles (13) through two games. Powell will be tasked with slowing down Valor wideout Doug McNeil III, who is tied for the team lead with four receiving touchdowns this postseason and has scored in all four games he has played in for the Valor this season.
