The Washington Valor (0-2) host the Atlantic City Blackjacks (1-1) Saturday at 7 p.m. at Capital One Arena in the team’s first home game of the 2019 season. Prior to kickoff, Washington will unveil the ArenaBowl XXXI banner commemorating the Valor’s title run last season. Atlantic City is coming off its first win in franchise history while the Valor look to rebound from a nine-point loss in Albany last weekend.
“We know how good we can be when we play our best football,” Valor quarterback Arvell Nelson said. “We just have to take care of the ball and not turn it over like we have the past two weeks. Possession of the football and converting in the redzone means everything in this league.”

LB Alvin Ray Jackson
– The veteran linebacker, playing in his second year with the Valor, has led the team in total tackles each of the first two weeks of the 2019 season, tallying five in Week 1 and eight in Week 2. – Hippeard, a former league MVP and Offensive Player of the Year, has thrown for 321 yards and seven touchdowns this season, including five in Week 1 against the Philadelphia Soul. Hippeard has also turned each of his two rushing attempts into touchdowns this season.
